Argus G3 Mini Review: The Pocket Vape That's Eating Its Big Brother's Sales
Six weeks. That's how long I've had the Argus G3 Mini in my pocket.
And honestly? It's outselling the full-size G3 in our Karachi orders by roughly 3 to 1. I did not see that coming. When Voopoo dropped the Mini, I assumed it'd be a side dish — a smaller, cheaper option for people who couldn't stretch to the proper G3. What's actually happening is the opposite. People who can afford either are still picking the Mini.
So I figured I owed you a proper writeup. Not a spec sheet copy-paste. A real one.
Quick price check before we go further — the Argus G3 Mini is Rs.3,199 on our store, with COD nationwide. Compare that to the OXVA Xlim Pro at Rs.5,099 and the Vaporesso Luxe Q2 SE at Rs.4,499 and you start to see why it's moving fast.
What you actually get in the box (and what it feels like)
1350mAh battery. That's the headline number. For a pod this small, it's frankly silly — in a good way.
The full-size Argus G3 has a 1000mAh in some configs and the Mini somehow sneaks in 350mAh more. I don't fully understand the engineering, but I'm not complaining. Real-world battery life for me has been about a day and a half of moderate use. If you're a heavy chain-vaper, you'll charge it daily. Light user? Two full days easy.
USB-C, obviously. Fast charging too — I clocked roughly 35 minutes from dead to full when I left it plugged in while answering emails. Not bench-tested, just me with a phone timer.
The build is where the Mini surprised me. I expected plasticky. Got something that feels denser than it should. There's a leather-textured panel on the front (synthetic, before anyone asks) and the rest is a coated metal frame. It doesn't creak. Drop it from desk height — I did, by accident, on tiled floor — and it just shrugs.
The pod sits flush. No wobble. The mouthpiece is a duckbill shape that I personally find more comfortable than round drip tips, but taste varies.
The airflow situation
Adjustable airflow ring at the bottom. Smooth click stops. You can go from a tight MTL draw (think cigarette-style, restricted) all the way open to a loose restricted DTL.
I keep mine about 70% closed. Most nic salt users will do the same. Open it all up and you're wasting juice for no reason — the coil isn't built for cloud-chasing anyway.
Why it's outselling the bigger G3 (the part nobody talks about)
Here's the thing nobody in the reviews wants to admit. Most people in Pakistan don't actually want a big vape.
I used to push the full-size G3 hard. Thought the bigger battery, bigger screen, more power was what people wanted. I got that wrong. What I've found over the last year is that buyers in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad — they want something that disappears in a jeans pocket. Something they can use during a meeting and slip away without it being a whole production.
The Mini does that. The full G3 doesn't.
And look — for a lot of customers, especially anyone moving from a disposable like the IVG Max Bar or the Regal 6000, the Mini feels like the natural next step. Same pocket-friendly shape. Same simple pull-and-puff feel. But now you refill it. You save money long-term. You stop throwing batteries in the bin.
That's the actual sell. Not specs.
The pod holds 2ml (TPD spec, standard across the board now). Mesh coil. Two resistance options — 0.4ohm for a warmer, slightly cloudier hit, and 0.8ohm for tight MTL. The 0.8 is what I'd hand to anyone coming off cigarettes or disposables. It mimics that draw almost perfectly.
Coil life has been honest — I'm getting about 8 to 10 days per coil on the 0.8ohm with 30mg salt. Some people will get more, some less. Depends how you treat it (don't dry-burn, don't run it empty, prime it properly before first use and you'll be fine).
What about the screen?
There isn't one. Small LED indicators for battery level. That's it.
I genuinely don't miss the screen from the full G3. How often do you actually look at wattage on a pod? I check battery — the LED does that. Past that, the screen on the big G3 was a vanity feature. I'll say it.
Argus G3 Mini vs the alternatives — quick honest comparison
People keep asking me to compare it to other pods at this price. So:
vs OXVA Xlim Go (Rs.3,499) — The Xlim Go is lighter and slightly slimmer. The G3 Mini has nearly 50% more battery and feels more premium in hand. If you want the lightest possible carry, Xlim Go wins. For everything else, Mini.
vs OXVA Xlim Pro (Rs.5,099) — Xlim Pro has the screen, the bigger battery, the customisation. Worth the extra Rs.1,900? Only if you're a tinkerer. Most people don't need it.
vs Vaporesso Luxe Q2 SE (Rs.4,499) — Luxe Q2 is gorgeous, no argument. The build quality is up there. But it's also Rs.1,300 more for what's basically a sidegrade in performance. The Q2 is for someone who cares about how the device looks on a desk. The G3 Mini is for someone who cares about pulling it out of a pocket 40 times a day.
vs the full-size Argus G3 — Get the Mini unless you specifically need the bigger juice capacity for long travel days. That's the only real reason.
I'm sending COD orders of the Mini to villages in interior Sindh, to apartments in DHA Phase 6, to people in Peshawar. The range of buyer is wider than anything else we sell right now. That tells you something.
The downsides (because nothing's perfect)
Three things bug me.
One — the pod connection is magnetic, which is fine, but if you sit it in your pocket with keys, the pod can shift slightly and you might get a misfire on the first puff. Small thing. Annoying when it happens.
Two — flavour selection on refillable pods depends entirely on the juice you put in it. So pair it with something good. I've been running our IVG Intense Salts in 30mg through it and the flavour reproduction is genuinely excellent. Blue Razz Lemonade and Tropical Mix Berry are my current rotation. If you put cheap juice in, don't blame the device.
Three — no Type-C cable in the box for some batches. Voopoo has been inconsistent. We throw one in with every order from our side just to avoid the complaint emails. But heads up.
Who should actually buy this?
If you're stepping down from disposables and want to save money — yes. The math works out. A Regal 6000 costs Rs.3,499 and lasts what, 7-10 days for most users? The Mini is Rs.3,199 once, plus juice at Rs.2,999 per 30ml bottle which lasts roughly 3-4 weeks. You're saving thousands per month within the first two months.
If you've been on pod systems for ages and want to downsize from a chunky mod — yes, get it.
If you want the absolute biggest clouds and adjustable wattage and screens — no, this isn't for you. Look at proper mod kits instead.
If you're brand new to vaping and slightly intimidated — yes. Genuinely yes. It's the easiest refillable pod we sell. Fill it, click the pod in, puff. There's no button. Draw-activated. That's it.
FAQ
Is the Argus G3 Mini worth it over the full-size G3?
For 9 out of 10 buyers, yes. The Mini is Rs.3,199, fits in a pocket, and the battery genuinely outlasts most people's daily use. The full G3 is only better if you need the larger juice tank for travel or you specifically want a screen.
What nic strength should I use in it?
30mg or 35mg salt nic for most people coming off cigarettes or disposables. 50mg if you're a heavy smoker switching cold turkey. Don't put freebase juice in it — wrong coil resistance, you'll burn through pods.
How long does the coil actually last?
Realistically, 8 to 12 days of normal use. Prime it before first use (let it sit 5 minutes after filling) and don't vape it dry. Coils that get burnt taste terrible and you'll blame the device when it's just a coil that needed swapping.
Do you deliver to smaller cities?
Yes, COD anywhere in Pakistan. Faisalabad, Multan, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Quetta, smaller towns too. Usually 3-4 days. Free returns if it arrives faulty.
Anyway — that's six weeks of honest carrying summed up. If you've got specific questions, hit us on WhatsApp. I answer most of them myself when I'm not buried in stock counts.
So tell me — what are you carrying right now, and what's making you think about switching?
