Voopoo Drag S2 in Pakistan: Is It Actually Worth More Than the Argus G3?

A mate asked me this last Tuesday over chai.

He'd been vaping an Argus G3 Mini for about four months and kept seeing the Drag S2 pop up in his Instagram feed. "Yaar, is it actually better or just more expensive?" That's the question. And honestly, I've been going back and forth on it myself.

So I did the boring thing. I ran both side by side for three weeks. Same juice, same coils where possible, same charging routine. Here's what I actually think — not what the box tells you.

The Drag S2 is a proper pod mod. The Argus G3 Mini isn't trying to be.

That's the whole thing in one sentence.

The Drag S2 runs a 2500mAh internal battery, pushes up to 60W, and uses the PnP-X pod system with swappable coils. You get a full-colour screen, GENE.TT chip, and it fires in about 0.001s. In Pakistan it's landing around Rs.11,500–12,500 depending on where you buy it and which colour you want. Not cheap.

The Voopoo Argus G3 Mini at Rs.3,199 with its 1350mAh battery is a completely different animal. It's a pod system. Draw-activated or button-fire, small, pocketable, and it just works. I've been recommending it to people who want something reliable that they won't fuss with.

So already you can see — comparing these is a bit like comparing a Corolla to a Civic. Same category-ish, different intent.

Look, I used to tell everyone "just get the Argus G3 Mini and be done with it." And for most people that's still my answer. But after three weeks with the Drag S2, I get why some vapers want the upgrade. The flavour production at 40W with a 0.3ohm PnP coil is on a different level. Warmer vapour, more depth, and you notice fruit notes you didn't know were in your juice.

The Argus G3 Mini can't do that. It's not built to.

What you actually get for the extra 8,000 rupees

Let me break it down without the marketing nonsense.

Battery life first. The Drag S2's 2500mAh comfortably gets me through a full day of moderate vaping — I'd say 47% more real-world usage than the Argus G3 Mini before I need to plug in. In Karachi traffic where you're sitting for an hour at Shahrah-e-Faisal, that matters. The Argus G3 Mini I was topping up around 4pm most days. The Drag S2 makes it to bedtime.

Charging is USB-C on both, but the Drag S2 does 5V/2A fast charge — roughly 45 minutes from dead to full. Argus G3 Mini takes about the same but the smaller battery means you're doing it more often.

The screen on the Drag S2 is genuinely useful. Wattage, coil resistance, puff counter, battery percentage — all right there. On the Argus G3 Mini you get LED indicators and that's it. Not a dealbreaker but once you have a screen you don't want to go back.

Coil options is where the Drag S2 pulls ahead hard. The PnP-X system supports coils from 0.15ohm all the way up to 1.2ohm. That means you can run it as a proper sub-ohm cloud device with 3mg freebase, or throw in a 0.8ohm pod with 35mg nic salt and treat it like a MTL device. One device, two totally different experiences.

The Argus G3 Mini is a nic salt device. Full stop. It does that job brilliantly. But it's not flexible.

Build quality — both feel premium in the hand. The Drag S2 has that zinc alloy and leather panel thing Voopoo does. It looks expensive. Argus G3 Mini feels solid but plasticky in comparison. When you're paying 3x more, you should feel it, and you do.

Where the Argus G3 Mini still wins

Pocket carry. Genuinely.

I take the Argus G3 Mini everywhere. It disappears into a jeans pocket. The Drag S2 is chunkier — you'll feel it. If you wear tight clothes or you're going out to dinner, the smaller device wins every time.

Simplicity too. My cousin picked up the Argus G3 Mini and was vaping in under two minutes. I handed him the Drag S2 and he stared at the screen like I'd given him a calculator. Some people don't want to think about wattage and airflow curves. They want to inhale and be happy.

And the price obviously. Rs.3,199 versus Rs.11,500+ is a massive gap. For most people in Pakistan that's the deciding factor and I completely understand why.

So who should actually buy the Drag S2 in Pakistan?

Here's the thing. If you've been vaping for over a year, you're bored of your current device, you like tinkering with settings and trying different coils, and you can absorb the price — the Drag S2 is worth it. You'll notice the difference every single puff.

If you just quit cigarettes six months ago, the Argus G3 Mini or even our IVG 8K disposable at Rs.3,999 will serve you better. Simpler, cheaper, less to worry about.

Honestly? I got this wrong at first. When the Drag S2 landed I thought "nobody in Pakistan is going to pay this much for a pod mod when disposables exist." But we've been shipping them to Lahore, Islamabad, and even a guy in Multan who's on his third one because his brothers keep stealing them. There's a real segment of vapers here who want the premium experience and are done with disposables.

The nic salt pairing matters too. If you're going to run a Drag S2 in MTL mode with a 0.8ohm coil, do yourself a favour and get proper 35mg salts. Our IVG Intense Salts at Rs.2,999 for 30ml are what I personally use in mine. Blue raspberry and the mango ice — those two flavours in a Drag S2 at 18W are ridiculous.

One more thing. The Drag S2 pods hold 4.5ml. Argus G3 Mini pods hold 2ml. That's less than half. You'll refill the Argus twice as often, which sounds trivial but on a long day it adds up — especially if you're on the road and don't want to be juggling juice bottles in a rickshaw.

All our Voopoo stock is authentic — we get them direct, and every order ships with COD across Pakistan. Karachi and Lahore usually see delivery in 2 days, smaller cities 3-4. Free returns if something's wrong out of the box, which happens maybe once every 200 orders but it's there.

FAQs

Is the Voopoo Drag S2 worth the price in Pakistan?

If you're an experienced vaper who wants coil flexibility, longer battery, and better flavour — yes. If you're new to vaping or on a budget, the Argus G3 Mini at Rs.3,199 gives you 80% of the experience for a third of the cost. Match the device to your actual needs, not the marketing.

Can I use nic salts in the Drag S2?

Absolutely. Use the 0.8ohm or 1.2ohm PnP-X pods, keep the wattage between 12-18W, and load 35mg salts. It's a completely different device in that mode — more like a premium pod system than a sub-ohm mod. That flexibility is honestly the biggest reason to spend the extra money.

How long does the Drag S2 battery last compared to Argus G3 Mini?

In my real-world use, the Drag S2's 2500mAh gets me a full day (12-14 hours moderate use). The Argus G3 Mini's 1350mAh gets me about 8-9 hours before I need to top up. Both charge in around 45 minutes over USB-C.

Do you deliver the Drag S2 with cash on delivery?

Yes, COD across all Pakistan. Karachi and Lahore usually 2 days, other cities 3-4 days. You inspect the box before paying the courier. If the device is faulty out of the box, free return — just message us on WhatsApp within 48 hours.

So — Drag S2 or Argus G3 Mini? What kind of vaper are you actually, when you're honest about it?
